2022 Ryan Raider Coaching Staff

 Head Football Coach 

Dave Henigan


In his nine years as Head Coach at Ryan he has helped lead the Raiders to six undefeated regular seasons, seven District Championships, a class 6A State Quarterfinal appearance, a class 5A State Quarterfinal appearance, three class 5A State Semifinal appearances, a class 5A State Finals appearance, a class 5A State Championship in 2020, an 97-7 record the last seven years, and a 102-12 overall record in eight seasons.  Coach Henigan was named the 5-6A Coach of the Year in 2015 after Ryan went 13-1.  


He was named the 5-5A Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2017, and the 4-5A Coach of the Year in 2018 after leading the Raiders to 14-1 records in all three of those years.  He was also named the 4-5A Coach of the Year and the Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year in 2019 after leading the Raiders to a 15-1 record and the 5A State Title game.  In 2020, he was named the 5-5A Coach of the Year, Tom Landry Coach of the Year, TSWA Class 5A Coach of the Year, and the National Football Foundation of Dallas Coach of the Year.  As Offensive Coordinator at Denton Ryan, he helped lead the Raiders to a state title in 2002 and a state runner-up in 2003.

Aaron De La Torre


Coach De La Torre is  beginning his 5th season at Ryan for his 16th year as a High School and College Coach. He attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a four-year starter for the Lumberjacks as a defensive tackle. He also had a career in the NFL and NFL Europe. He began his coaching career in 2006 at Stephen F. Austin State University and then spent three seasons with the Denton Ryan Raiders from 2009-2011 before becoming the head coach at Irving HS (6 years).


He and his wife Lori, have three children Alex, Adyson, and Kolt.

 Offensive Coordinator 

Pat Galyon


Coach Galyon is in his 8th straight year on the Ryan coaching staff.  This is his 19th year overall coaching football.  He also coached at North Crowley and Coppell. 


Pat and his wife Emily have two girls: Reyna and Bodie

Jeff Gott


Coach Gott is beginning his 6th year as a coach at Ryan.

He has 16 years of coaching experience. He started his coaching career in Keller ISD in 2006 and has also coached at Grapevine HS, Birdville HS, Myers MS and Strickland MS. Coach Gott attended Texas A&M University.

Jeff and his wife Katy have 2 children, Gracie & Graham.

Jordan Bull


Coach Bull is in his 9th year on the coaching staff at Ryan High.  He has 23 years experience as a football coach.  Coach Bull attended Oklahoma State University.


Jordan and his wife Christy have 2 children: Kadyn & Rylan.

Sam Collins


Coach Collins played for and graduated from Ryan High.  He played football at Abilene Christian University and then spent the next 5 years on their coaching staff.  This is Sam's 9th year as a member of the Ryan coaching staff.


Sam and his wife Casey have 2 children, Emma and Noah.

Lawrence Williams



Lawrence Williams is starting his 1st year on staff at Ryan HS, and his 11th year coaching.  Coach Williams has spent the last 7 years at Melissa HS.  He played football at West Texas A&M, and later finished his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  In May of 2022, Coach Williams completed his Masters degree in Educational Administration at Grand Canyon University.

Lawrence and his wife Tammy have 3 children.  Mechelle, Ja’bray, and Trae who is a sophomore at Ryan HS.

 Wide Receivers 

Billy Bowman


Coach Bowman is beginning his 7th year as a coach at Ryan. He is entering his 20th year of Teaching, and 14th year Coaching. He had previous coaching stops in Prosper, Frisco, and in Garland. Billy attended college at East Central University were he played Football & Baseball.  

Coach Bowman is married to Keeley and they have two children, Billy and Baylee.

 Running backs 

Reed Ryan


Reed Ryan is starting his 1st year at Ryan HS, and 8th year coaching.  Coach Ryan spent the last 7 years at Prosper HS.  He graduated from Texas A&M in 2014 as a member of the Corps of Cadets, Company E-1.


Coach Ryan and his wife Taylor (Girls' Soccer coach at Panther Creek HS) have one son, River who was born in December of 2020.

Mark Humble


Mark Humble is beginning his 1st year at Ryan. He is entering his 25th year of coaching and 22nd year of teaching. He has had previous coaching stops at Rock Hill, Frisco Lone Star, Southlake Carroll, Plano East, Texas High and Keller High. Coach Humble played quarterback at SMU while earning his bachelor’s and master’s degree. He played football and baseball at Killeen High School and was part of a State Championship football team
Coach Humble is married to Kerri and they have two children, Kaylee and Hudson.

Tyler Lokey


Coach Lokey is beginning his 7th year as a coach at Ryan. Coach Lokey is a former Ryan Raider football player. He played one season at Stephen F. Austin before transferring to Texas A&M University-Commerce where he graduated in 2012. He started his coaching career in the Bryan/College Station area in 2013. Coach Lokey had spent the prior two years teaching and coaching at Bettye Myers Middle School.

Myron Newberry


This will be Coach Newberry's 4th year on the Ryan staff. Before beginning his coaching career, Coach Newberry played and graduated Ryan High in 2004, winning 2 state titles. Coach Newberry went on to play at the University of Hawaii earning first team All WAC defensive back and first team all academic from 2006-2008.

Philip Jones


This will be Coach (Lub) Jones 2nd year on the Ryan staff coaching Wide Receivers.  Before beginning his coaching career, Coach Jones played and graduated Ryan High in 2003, appearing in 3 state title games, winning 2 state titles. Coach Jones attended The University of Oklahoma State in 2003 before a leg injury took him off the field. Coach Jones graduated from TWU in 2020 receiving a degree in Sociology.

Daniel McLemore


Daniel McLemore is starting his 2nd year at Ryan on staff and 9th year coaching.  Coach McLemore had spent 5 years at Irving HS.  Graduated from Oklahoma State with bachelors in Kinesiology where he lettered 4 years in football and track earning All Big 12 in both sports 2004 and 2005. 

Daniel and his wife Kemah have 1 son Dante.

Paul Ressa


This will be Coach Ressa’s 2nd year at Denton Ryan.  He came to us from Newman Smith where he was the Head Coach & Athletic Coordinator for 14 seasons.  During his tenor there he reached the playoffs 4 times and made it to the 3rd round twice.  He has had stops at RL Turner, opened Mansfield Summit and Creekview before Newman Smith.  


Coach Ressa is married to Lauri and he has two sons, Ashton and Ayden.

Janson Head


Coach Head has coached at Ryan High 18 years and has 21 years of coaching experience.  He is also the boys' head track coach.  Coach Head attended Texas Tech University.


Janson and his wife Stacy have 4 children: Kelsey, Kailyn, Kyleigh and Kambree.

 HEAD Trainer  

Ronnie Leidner


Coach Leidner is in his 11th season as a trainer at Ryan High.  He spent 1 year prior as the Head Athletic Trainer at Whitesboro High.  Coach Leidner attended Hardin-Simmons University.  He then received his Masters of Athletic Training from Texas Tech University.


Ronnie and his wife Christen have two daughters , Rhyan and Gentry and one son, Griffin.

Kyanna Volentine


Coach Volentine is starting her 2nd year at Ryan and 5th year as an Athletic Trainer. She spent 2 years at Ennis High School and 1 year at UTSA as an Athletic Trainer. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science for The University of Texas at San Antonio and Masters in Athletic Training from The University of Houston.
Coach and her Husband, Justin Volentine, reside in Denton.
