Returning home! Shane "Coach Tolly" Tolleson is entering his 23rd year in the coaching profession. A native of Corsicana, Texas, he played for the Corsicana Tigers and remains the program's all-time leading tackler.
After graduating from Corsicana High School, Tolleson earned a two-year scholarship to Navarro College before continuing his playing career at Arkansas State University, where he competed at linebacker and fullback. He earned both a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in public adminitration from Arkansas State.
Coach Tolleson's career includes four years at Arkansas State University, five years at Southern Arkansas University, one year at Haltom High School and eight years as the Defensive Coordinator at Denton Ryan. During his first tenure here, he helped lead the Raiders to the 2020 state championship.
He then served five seasons as the Head Football Coach at Waxahachie High School, compiling an impressive 45-17 record. Coach Tolly returns here now serving as the Raiders' Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Director.
Shane and his wife, Katie, are the proud parents of two children,, Kade (18) and Keylee (15).
Will Cockerill is beginning his 4th year at Ryan. He is entering his 20h year coaching and 17th teaching. He has had previous stops at Allen, Brandeis, Carrizo Springs, Refugio and Medina Valley High School. Coach Cockerill played wide receiver at Howard Payne University for a season before transitioning into a student-assistant role where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Later earning his Master’s Degree from Lamar University. Coach Cockerill has been a part of 2 State Finalist and 7 State Quarter-Finalist Teams in his career.
Coach Cockerill is married to Gloria and they have 5 children. Will, Kaitlin (A Junior) , Kylie (A Sophmore) Clay and Cole.

Coach Scott Reynolds is entering his 13th year in coaching and currently serves as the Offensive Coordinator at Ryan High School. He joins Ryan after a three-year tenure at Waxahachie High School.
Coach Reynolds began his coaching career in Van, Texas, in 2014. He is a proud graduate of Cooper High School and played football at Southern Arkansas University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History in 2010.
In 2025, Coach Reynolds’ offense helped lead the Waxahachie Indians to a 12-2 record and a district championship in District 11-6A. Over his eight years as an offensive coordinator, his offenses have produced 3 All-State quarterbacks, 2 All-State running backs, 6 All-State wide receivers, and 4 All-State offensive linemen.
Under his guidance, his quarterback at Waxahachie broke the school’s single-season and career records for passing yards, while the offense also produced two 1,000-yard receivers. In 2021, his quarterback at Van broke the school’s single-season touchdown record with 41 touchdowns.
Coach Reynolds brings extensive experience, a passion for developing student-athletes, and a commitment to helping young men reach their full potential both on and off the field.
Scott and his wife, Jorden, have one daughter, Olivia, and are excited to welcome a baby boy in November.

Coach Lane is a proud Dentonite (DHS grad 1993) and is in his 4th year as a coach at Ryan where he actually did his student teaching. He has 16 years coaching experience and 27 years teaching experience, all in Denton I.S.D. He started his career at Calhoun Middle School in 1999 with stops at Denton High School and Strickland Middle School before coming to Ryan. He attended The University of North Texas.
Coach Lane has been married for 27 years to his wife Frankie. He has two daughters, Sofia who graduated from Ryan last year and Nina who is a Sophmore.

Coach Bull is in his 13th year on the coaching staff at Ryan High. He has 27 years experience as a football coach. Coach Bull attended Oklahoma State University.
Jordan and his wife Christy have 2 children: Kadyn & Rylan.

Coach Justin Mitchell is a proud native of Phenix City, Alabama, and an alumnus of Alabama State University, where he played football for four years and earned preseason All-Conference honors. With 11 years of coaching experience, Coach Mitchell spent four years at Central High School, helping the program reach the State Championship in 2022 and 2024 and win the 2023 State Championship, while earning a Top 10 national ranking by MaxPreps and ESPN.
Coach Mitchell spent one year at Mesquite Horn High School before beginning his first year at Ryan High School. He is passionate about developing student-athletes on and off the field and building relationships that make a lasting impact.
Away from football, Coach Mitchell is a proud husband to his wife, Paige, and father to his son, Javius (8), and infant daughter, Journee. His family is his greatest motivation and the foundation behind everything he does.

Jace Berry is from Ennis, Texas, and a graduate of Nelson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He is entering his fourth year of coaching and teaching and his first year at Ryan High School after spending his first three years of coaching and teaching at Ennis High School.

This will be Coach Newberry’s 8th year on the Ryan staff. Before beginning his coaching career, Coach Newberry played and graduated Ryan High in 2004, winning 2 state titles. Coach Newberry went on to play at the University of Hawaii earning first team All WAC defensive back and first team all academic from 2006-2008.

This will be Coach (Lub) Jones 6th year on the Ryan staff coaching Wide Receivers. Before beginning his coaching career, Coach Jones played and graduated Ryan High in 2003, appearing in 3 state title games, winning 2 state titles. Coach Jones attended The University of Oklahoma State in 2003 before a leg injury took him off the field. Coach Jones graduated from TWU in 2020 receiving a degree in Sociology.
Phillip has 4 Children: Darla, Amari, Ameer and Jaleel.

Daniel McLemore is starting his 6th year at Ryan on staff and 13th year coaching. Coach McLemore had spent 5 years at Irving HS. Graduated from Oklahoma State with bachelors in Kinesiology where he lettered 4 years in football and track earning All Big 12 in both sports 2004 and 2005.
Daniel and his wife Kemah have 2 children Dante and Alani.

Coach Thompson is beginning his 24th year of coaching, and 1st at Denton Ryan High School. He previously coached at Prosper, Princeton, Red Oak, Marshall, and Nevada Community high schools. He is originally from Howe and played football at Austin College in Sherman, where he was a 3-year Academic All-Conference Player and 2-year starter on the offensive line. He graduated in 2002 and served as a graduate assistant while obtaining his Master’s degree in 2003.
Coach Thompson is married to his beautiful wife Melissa, and they have two children: Charlotte, 12 and Madison 18.
Goals for the season: Be recognized as the most physical offensive line in the district and help young men discover the work ethic to be successful when they graduate high school.

Coach Head has coached at Ryan High for 22 years and has hit a milestone this being his 25th year in coaching. Coach Head attended Texas Tech University as a standout track athlete.
Janson and his wife Stacy have 4 children: Kelsey, Kailyn, Kyleigh and Kambree, all except Kambree have graduated or are currently attending Ryan.

Coach Galyon is in his 12th straight year on the Ryan coaching staff. This is his 24th year overall coaching football. He also coached at North Crowley and Coppell.

Coach Logan is starting his 2nd year here at Ryan, He has 18 years of coaching experience with stops at McMath Middle School, Denton High, Coppell, and Princeton (as a Defensive Coordinator). Coach Logan attended and played football at Alcorn State University where he was a standout linebacker for the Braves.
Omega and his wife Jasmin have 3 children: Jael, Omega, and Joy. Two of them are currently at Ryan, Jael who is a Senior and Omega who is a Sophmore.

Coach Barrera is entering his 3rd year coaching here after playing and graduating from Ryan in 2019. During his high school career he also played at Krum receiving All-district honors. He earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from The University of North Texas in 2023, making the Dean's List, where he was also a walk-on for a year as well.
He and his wife Haley are high school sweethearts and got married in March of 2024. This year they welcomed their first child, baby girl Elowen!

Coach Boffman is in his 11th year as a coach. He graduated from Waco High School, lettering in football and powerlifting. After HS, he continued his football career at ETBU where he lettered in football and graduated with a major in history secondary education minor in Kinesiology. Coaching stops include Waco ISD, New Caney ISD, Humble ISD, and Ponder ISD.
This is the first year at Denton Ryan. His wife Julie Boffman works at Lagrone and together they have two kids Kyland (3) and Lauralai (1).

Coach Doring spent the past two years coaching the receivers at Waxahachie High School. He is entering his 3rd year of coaching at Ryan. He attended Texas A&M University and served as a graduate assistant with the Aggie football team for 2 seasons.
Coach Doring is married to his wife Macy, who is also a coach/teacher. He is also a second-generation Ryan Raider football coach, as his father coached here from 2001-2004.

Coach Leidner is in his 15th season as a trainer at Ryan High. He spent 1 year prior as the Head Athletic Trainer at Whitesboro High. Coach Leidner attended Hardin-Simmons University. He then received his Masters of Athletic Training from Texas Tech University.
Ronnie and his wife Christen have two daughters , Rhyan and Gentry and one son, Griffin.

Coach Volentine is starting her 6th year at Ryan and 9th year as an Athletic Trainer. She spent 2 years at Ennis High School and 1 year at UTSA as an Athletic Trainer. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science for The University of Texas at San Antonio and Masters in Athletic Training from The University of Houston.
Coach and her Husband, Justin Volentine, and their son Christopher reside in Denton.
